The Honda Civic Tour launched in 2001 with Blink-182 headlining the first leg and Everclear topping the bill on the second leg. The next year Incubus was at the helm, followed by New Found Glory and Good Charlotte n 2003, Dashboard Confessional in 2004, Maroon 5 in 2005, and the Black Eyed Peas in 2006.
In 2007, Fall Out Boy brought along The Academy Is.., Cobra Starship, Paul Wall, and +44. The tour was originally set to kick off in April at Charlotte, NC, not far from Bill Kenny at Crown Honda in Greensboro. The start of the tour was postponed but FOB and friends put on an amazing show at Charlotte's Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.
Fall Out Boy's Fueled by Ramen labelmates Panic at the Disco were pegged to headline 2008's Honda Civic Tour Lineup, which included Motion City Soundtrack, The Hushed Sound, and Phantom Planet (who also were part of the 2002 Honda Civic Tour roster).
The annual Honda Civic Tour is not only a celebration of music, it is a vehicle of sorts for sharing the importance of taking care of our Earth. Each headlining act designs a custom Honda Civic - an environmentally friendly car with style and sense. They also express through their words, video, and other media the importance of living green and how everyone can make the world a cleaner place.
The entire tour process is evaluated and planned with the greenest footprint possible. From recycling to using bio-degradable products and energy-efficient lighting, the Honda Civic Tour continues to break ground in creating new ways to tour green. And enivronmentally-friendly organizatons benefit by receiving support from part of the tours proceeds.
